Criteria For Awarding
Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident.

Applicant must reside and attend an academic institution in El Paso, Texas

Applicant may be married, divorced, widowed or single.

Applicant must send a final grade report at the end of the spring semester to the BPW Scholarship Committee Chairperson.

Applicant must consent to volunteer her time to help BPW with scheduled activities and/or events at least three times throughout the scholarship year.

Deadline for submitting applications will be October 30 of the current year.

Applicant must have been denied financial assistance and must provide proof of federal financial assistance denial letter.

Applicant must provide Registrar’s Receipt as proof of admittance.

Applicant must sign and submit Volunteer Agreement Form along with Scholarship application.

Applicant must submit an essay of up to 200 words that will convey what are her educational and career goals and how this scholarship may help her achieve those goals.

A Scholarship And Wish To Re-Apply

Student can re-apply if student is in good academic standing and has maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA; has met all scholarship guidelines including having submitted a final spring semester grade report.

Student should complete only identified section of Application Form.

Student must submit a copy of the Registrar’s Receipt.

If reapplied for federal financial assistance, must once again submit Financial Aid Denial Letter.

The amount of a scholarship can be up to $1000 or it may vary based on funding availability.

The scholarship will be paid directly to applicant’s educational institution.

Scholarship funds are made payable to your academic institution in your name.
